Tea 9ct Earrings

Tea 9ct Earrings

€65.00

The Tea earring is Fairtrade stamped because the gold is fully traceable and meets Fairtrade Gold requirements. It comes from a mine in Peru where the miners have received the London Bullion price for the gold as well as an additional 5% premium for social development. The Tea earring is sold separately, because I like to mix things up and seldom wear matching earrings. If you want a pair, then choose two items. The earring is a 5mm circle with the MIA Reykjavik mark engraved in the middle. The earring is 9ct solid gold, hallmarked 375, stamped with the Fairtrade logo and marked with an International convention mark for quality purposes. The X symbol is made up of two triangles (primary art elements) and symbolizes sexual equality.

On treasure maps (either historic or from children’s bed time stories), the location of the gold is often marked with an X or cross. Isn’t it fun, that the mark for MIA Reykjavík is a X or cross, marking a location for fairtrade gold?

If you love solid gold jewelry, help make a difference by choosing Fairtrade gold. It really helps the miners make a difference in their lives and communities.

I hope you like the simple design of this earring.

I recently spoke to Alan Frampton, the owner of Cred Jewellery in London. He just came back from a trip to Peru where he visited the miners that have mined the gold in this item. He has seen and experienced the wonderful social development happening there, and it’s all because we are able to supply and sell Fairtrade gold. “I ask myself daily, what have we done for the miners today?” said Alan at the end of our conversation. I like this approach, and that is why I am sharing it here on my webpage. Have a great day. Best, -Maria.
